My Head Is A Hornets‘ Nest
There is an original before the original: First I created a head-like sculpture out of an abandoned hornets’ nest and bees‘ wax – the later solely used as column for the neck.
When I realized that the sculpture is to tender to leave the studio, I looked for possibilities to transform it into a tougher version of itself that can go outside. That sculpture was then made as a 3D-print from a digital scan, created with hand-held scanner right in studio.
Due to the substantial differences in appearance, sturdiness and material it became another original.
