Adire is a Yoruba textile art form. This fabric came with the name Sliding from Adedoyin Faniyi via our mutual friend Marion Steiner to me. I know it is a great privilege and responsibility to work with this textile. I wanted the fabric to stay as whole as possible. I decided to only cut out a hole for the head which can be closed again. Stitched into a dress by dots (not lines) it is still able to slide.
